April is a fierce advocate for those living with chronic kidney disease and the comorbid conditions that contribute to this disease such as diabetes, hypertension, lupus, and cardiovascular disease. April uses her personal and professional experiences to teach, coach, mentor, and educate others on how best to manage their chronic kidney disease. She also has a passion for ensuring that underserved communities have a voice and equitable healthcare access to live a thriving life.
April currently serves as the secretary of her local American Nephrology Nurse Association (ANNA) chapter and is a Peer Mentor for the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP). She is the founder and CEO of iKARE Renal Solutions, LLC. April currently lives in Virginia with her wonderful husband.

April graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing and has been a a Certified Nephrology Nurse for 20 years. She has extensive operational and leadership experience in incenter HD, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. Prior to managing 14 home programs while working for DaVita Healthcare Partners, she was the lead at three incenter facilities.
